Mani/pedi combos run 40-45$ if you go to a strictly nail salon type place. Infinitely cheaper than at the spa, with (I find) better results. Not to racial profile, but especially if the people running it and working in it are asians.
I never feel quite as pretty as I do after a crap day at work to just go get pampered and cleaned up in the places most easily neglected.
Getting your hair done, getting your eyebrows done, getting a facial, having just a pure spa day -- even if you don't wanna break the bank for a 400$ day, you can get a pedi here at a high end spa that's about 75$ and they serve you wine and cheese the whole time -- buying new shoes, visiting La Senza, uhmm..
Or if you'd rather stay home, since I know you have bebe, you can do all of that pretty much at home. When he's napping, instead of taking the precious time for sleep or something, steal a couple of hours to doll yourself up. Just for fun. It can be clean-ups like facial masks and foot soaks or actually doing yourself up to get some WOWFACTOR from Charlie when he comes home. Up to you and what you want/need.
I find the moment I start wishing for more girly things to make me feel more feminine, it's always because I've been neglecting myself over all. Chances are it's the same for you, mommy, so do whatever strikes your fancy to recharge your sexy-batteries.
Oh yeah! Are you drinking again yet or booby-feeding? I dunno all the rules. But you should make sangria if you do all this stuff at home.
Edittosay: If you possibly can, do any of this with a girlfriend. Even if you're just staying at home, sipping wine and doing your toes. Vagina power is remarkably helpful in boosting how you feel about yourself when it comes to just "being pretty". |

I've been thinking about nails...or doing something that requires monthly or bi-monthly upkeep so that I have something regular to go and do... I lack difinitive structure as well. I wish I had a chica to do this with, but alas, the only girlfriend I have ran away from drama... for six hours lol.

What Seba suggested definitely works. For some reason having cute nails really boosts your self-confidence. I can't explain it. xD And having your hair all cute helps too, whether you go and get it styled or look online for a style and (if you need it) a tutorial or guide to help you do it. Actually, Youtube has some great hairstyle and make-up tutorial videos. I admit I have used them sometimes. xD Except they always use the expensive brushes/brands/etc. so I just match colors with my own and deal with the stuff I have. Can usually end up looking really cute for $0.00! :3
Or, if you have extra cash and it's warm or about to be warm, go buy a cute dress/outfit. Indulge yourself a little, because being in cute clothing always helps one feel pretty. But I realize this is definitely not an option for everyone so completely understandable. [/size] |

Please. We live in an age where human beings can fly. I'm totally putting my foot down to come for your wedding too, miss, though I'll need complete deets.

FUCK YES!.... Wedding party FTW... Though we're sssssssssssssserrrriously considering destination wedding at this point.... or straight up eloping. My family = huge drama. Unfortunately. Example.... My grandmother wants us to have a table.... we don't have room for or even want the stupid table.... so she calls my mom and says "We're gonna go bring them the table on tuesday." Now tomorrow I have to make room for a table I don't want. Lame. And yes Ash, I totally agree with that... I think that either tomorrow or on wed. I'm gonna go get some nail stuffs done. Maevey, if flying were as simple as all that, we'd be chillin' all the time. Though I'll say you're always welcome to come party whenever you want  |
