CAIN AURELIUS

Age: 25
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Eye Colour: Dark Brown
Hair Colour: Brown
Height: 5'11''
Weight: 186 LBS
Notable tattoos/scars/birthmarks: N/A
General Clothing:
- Simple Clothing
Being a man who prefers to be able to move around and dodge attacks than handle them, Cain does not allow himself to clad much armor. As seen in the image, is it but a pair of shoulder pads that cover his shoulders and neck, made of metal. Under that, he wears a simple black tunic. Around his waist, he wears a large brown belt, from which Kardas' sheathe hung on. Following that is a pair of black loose pants that allow for easy and quick movement, and finally, a pair of black leather boots, the pants tucked into the footwear. The boots are made of soft leather, allowing traverse in all kinds of terrain.- War Armor
Kept in a safehouse in Denerim, this armor is only clad by Cain in times when he is required to march into a battlefield, for this is not an ideal armor to clad during his assassination assignments. Made of steel with cloth under layer, the armor is actually considerably light and with Cain having being used to the armor, it feels almost weightless. He wears a grey tunic under the armor, said item only consisting of a chest piece and waist guards. The armor has uneven paulders, with the left arm being larger than the right, mostly using for ramming. His left arm is fully armored, while his right arm is covered in white bandages, though finished with similar gauntlets. The armor has groin guards, and greaves that reaches up to his knees, the rest of his legs covered by a pair of black pants.
Weapons:
- Kardas
Kardas is indeed one unique weapon, not only in design but in stature too. The sword is made of an alloy of white steel and graphite, thus making it one of the hardest and sharpest weapons to date. The hilt is circular, allowing a more flexible and yet firmer grip upon the weapon. The hilt consists of different levels of contours, mostly placed there for the comfort and safety of the user. The pommel is curved outwards then, curving towards the direction of the blade. The blade itself has a slight curve and is one-sided, making it seem like a straight katana blade, only broader. The blade is also serrated near the hilt, increasing its lethality.
The weapon is carried in a black sheathe by his left hip, Cain, although being ambidextrous, preferring to wield Kardas in his right hand. And unsurprisingly, his sheathe is a completely black piece of hard wood, shaped just to fit the sword.- Sica
Also made of white-steel, this was the other weapon left behind to him by his mentor. Made with a ring for Cain's index finger, this dagger allows Cain to switch from front-hand-grip to back-hand-grip easily, a feature that has proven very useful for the young mercenary. Kept in a sheathe that is wrapped around his right thigh, Cain makes sure to never travel without Sica. Who knows when it might come useful, after all.- Close-Quarters Combat
Cain has been trained to fight even without weapons. The mercenary has an uncanny ability to adapt to combat situations and read his opponent's moves, making him a dangerous close-quarter combat fighter, with his wide list of strike techniques and grapples. He is as dangerous without a weapon as he is with one.- Improvisation
You can never get far as an assassin if you are limited to only one or two weapons. Assassins like Cain have enabled themselves to reach the next level of dangerousness by training themselves in all sorts of weaponry to the skill of an adept. They also allow their imaginations to run and sometimes create weapons out of unlikely items, like using a piece of clothing to suffocate or strangle an opponent.
Pets: Cain has a particularly clever pet hawk named Arden that enables Cain to achieve a couple of feats, like delivering messages, scouting and aerial aid. The two of them had been together so long that the mental link between them stands strong. Arden would always be hunting, and is simply called upon by Cain with a mouthed whistle.
Likes: Mango, wandering, combat, female company, money, challenges, the rain, the moon
Dislikes:Naive people, passive people, boring fights, spicy food, extreme weather, cowards
Strengths:
- Adaptivity
Growing up in a lifestyle where everyone was a potential enemy, Cain has grown to be a bit of a loner. He also has adept analytical skills and a set of considerably sharpened senses, capabilities that have allowed him to live this long. He is ruthless and lethal and does not hesitate to take the life of another that holds no or little value for him. Cain is a quick-thinker and is sharp with his senses. He analyses his situation quickly and then proceed with the action that best benefits him.- Manipulative
Also, Cain has a sort of manipulative side of him. With a cunning mindset, an analytical mind and a sharp tongue, Cain is able to talk his way out of almost every situation, and has a way of getting things out of the toughest of people. Words can be sharper than swords, after all. More often than not, Cain has a habit of taunting his enemy into a mistake and then capitalising on it. Dishonorable, probably, but Cain could only care less about that.
Weaknesses:
- Enclosed
Cain does not trust people easily, nor does he enjoy making friends. This has caused him to be a sort of loner, as mentioned beforehand. Being always alone, Cain's capabilities as a swordsman is limited, for one man can only do so much. Also, he does not have much aid to call for when it is required and thus when he finds himself on difficult situations, it is considerably hard for him to get himself out.- Reluctance to lead
Also, Cain does not like having people under him. Leadership-wise, he is not the best of choices. True, he has a better-than-average rasp of strategy, but that is all he has. For morale, Cain would have to depend on his ability to kill to motivate and also frighten his troops into combat.
Class: Rogue

Character History:Before we begin on the story of Cain Aurelius, we first have to look into the life of a man named Alexander Mason. Alexander Mason was an assassin for the Antivan Crows, and an exceptionally skilled one, at that. He was one of Antivan Crows' prized jewels, but the man himself was troubled. As he aged, he started to question his life choice. He wanted a more peaceful lifestyle, one that gave him at least a humane purpose, and an achievement that he could be happy and satisfied with.
And his answer then came, in the form of a young boy named Cain. Now, Cain, at this point, was actually the son of a rich merchant, though a hard-headed one, and one that had been slapping the faces of many powerful but corrupt people. Perhaps one too many, for soon enough, the Antivan Crows were hired to bring him down. The man's name was Marko, though he was more commonly known as Money M, for his great ability in marketing. And when Alexander went to find Marko Aurelius, Cain was only but a mere year old.
Alexander, under the orders of the Antivan Crow elders, then paid Marko a visit at his temporary home, having being stuck there due to a storm. And as such, he had very little guards, an opportunity that Alexander took quite cleverly. A kill here, a murder there, a slice here and a stab there, and soon enough, all that was left was Marko and Cain. Where was their mom? Well, I perhaps left this little snippet out. Cain's mom passed away at his delivery, making Cain Marko's little treasure, for he was his last family.
As Alexander was about to swoop in for the kill, though, he found a surprising scene. The man would fell on his knees, carrying in his arms the young infant, Cain. And he would break into tears, looking up at Alexander pleadingly. And his words would change Alexander's lives forever.
"I know I cannot pay you to spare me, but my child, Cain, is not your target. Over at the box in the corner, you will find gold almost equivalent to the amount of bounty on my head. Take it, but all I ask of you is for you to find my son a good family. Please, this will be my paid job for you."
Alexander found himself moved by the man's determination and love for his son. He was so willing to throw away his treasures and life, and put his trust on the man who would take his life, to ensure the survival of his own child. Alexander acknowledged his final wish with a nod, and with newfound respect for the man, decapitated him, keeping his death as painless as he could. And with the kill claimed, Alexander picked the sleeping baby up.
It was when he realised that Cain here was his chance for a better life. With that decision made, Alexander did what no one expected him to do. Taking whatever money that Marko had been holding then, Alexander fled with Cain in hand. This, of course, angered the Antivan Crows, as they set out assassins to hunt him down. However, Alexander was fully aware of the Antivan Crow's methods and styles, and using this information, he had managed to stay away from the eyes of his pursuers.
And finding a hut up in the mountains, Alexander proceeded to train Cain up to be just like him. And as the years passed by, Cain soon developed the skills akin of that of an Antivan Crow, and more, for the young kid had been perceived by Alexander as a prodigy. This has allowed Cain to learn more at a shorter period of time. And as Cain turned 22, he was finally sent out on his actual first mission. He was to take down this dark monster that had been terrorising the citizens of the village near their hut. And Cain set off for his hunt.
Of course, Cain did find his mark. It was at this time that he picked up Arden as a small baby hawk, having saved him from the creature. It was not that Cain chose to bring it back. Arden had chosen to stick with him, following all the way as he returned back to his hut.
However, Cain panicked as he came to vicinity of it. The smell of blood was strong in the air. Cain's head shot upwards, as he rushed forward, barging into the house and finding it a complete mess. And there, in the living room lay Alexander with three other bodies, one that Cain easily identified as Antivan Crows. They had found Alexander. Rushing to his mentor's side, a man that he had come to see as his father, he attempted to save his life, but both of them were fully aware of his injuries.
Alexander was not going to make it to the night.
With that, Alexander left with Cain the story of his real father, his weapon Kardas and a weapon that he had forged for Cain just a year back, Sica. And Alexander then gave Cain his last request. For him to live his own life, to not dedicate his life to seeking revenge, for it called for nothing but chaos. To sum things up, Cain buried his mentor and departed for the world. Three years has passed, and Cain had slowly made a name for himself as a blade-for-hire. As his identity and origin had been kept a secret from the Antivan Crows, he was not hunted down. However, he was constantly given invitations to join the guild of assassins, invitations that he constantly declined.
And thus starts, the story of Cain Aurelius, the brown-eyed blade-for-hire.
